Dear Dora

Lest you think that Dora is a real person, let me set you straight! She is just a character that rolls around in my head. I’m Shelly, and I write at This Eclectic Life.

It began with a writing contest. I had people write fictional Dear Abby letters, and I answered them. I’ve published them all on one page so that you can see them without digging through my archives. Visit the link to Dora Before She “Came Out.”

But, “Abby” was snarky and, well, downright mean! She wasn’t at all like the Abby I knew growing up. I then started hearing a voice in my head.

OK, I admit I always heard voices in my head, but this one was different. She was Dora, and she was angry at me. She wanted her voice heard, and insisted that I speak for her.

Now, she has her own website. She would talk a lot more, but she needs some inspiration from you. Go on and write her a letter. You know you want to do it.
